Blushing Bride on 17 will reccommend , experienced, local seamstress for your convenience.
Brides should be sure to budget for the necessary alterations which generally run between $100 - $300. Of course, this is a case by case basis and the bride is only charged for the services the dress will need. Alterations may sometimes seem expensive, but a wedding gown should fit unlike any other garment.
We recommend beginning the alterations process about two or three months before the wedding date. This time frame also allows time for dry-cleaning, if needed, as well as any last-minute changes needed due to weight flucuation.
The first meeting with our seamstress is considered a consultation to discuss what changes can and will be made to the gown. Basic alterations include: contouring the side seams, a hem, a bustle, and built in bra cups. Additional alterations offered include: shortening the train, slimming the skirt, changing the neckline, adding sleeves, lowering the back, adding/taking away buttons and the list goes on.
We strongly suggest the bride bring her actual wedding shoes and any shape-wear or specific undergarments that she plans to wear.
